ADINA LADIES WATCH – MODEL NK40 98

My husband bought as a birthday gift for me one of the above watches from a local Jeweller in October 1999. On the 12 month Guarantee it states "Our standards will more than meet yours"

Congratulations – I entirely agree!!! I loved this watch and wore it religiously for over five years and in this time it received its fair share of knocks and bumps and never missed a beat. I was heartbroken when I lost it in late 2007 after I had taken it off just before playing a volleyball game and left it in the car.

I turned the car and later the house upside down many times looking for this watch, as it was very sentimental to me. After a long time I finally gave up on it, thinking it must have been stolen.

Who would have thought that about three months ago, when my kids were trying yo get ice cream on their own they would drag a shopping bad out of the deep freezer containing some very smashed up puff pastry (they dropped it) and an Adina ladies watch, much like the old one I'd lost more than 18 months previously. (Never thought to look there!!!) I put it on the bench to "defrost" and in excitement, missed an important detail – it was working!!! And the time was spot on!!!

At the risk of boring you with details – my in laws had given us a pie maker that volleyball evening n October 2004 so we'd bought puff pastry on the way home. Obviously the watch got caught up in the shopping bag and made it to the freezer, even after we'd used most of the pastry. It patiently ticked for a long chilly 18 months, ridiculously surviving at least two or three occasions when we emptied and cleaned the freezer out in that time.

Three things became very clear:

• We obviously don't use a lot of puff pastry!
• The watch was a much better present that a pie-maker
• The Adina Standard certainly "more than meets ours"

When it seems many move towards cutting corners and disposable items, congratulations Adina on a great product with excellent standards.
